The 12th Annual Winter Festival of Wine at Sun Peaks offers anyone who enjoys wine and winter recreation one of Canada’s most fun and memorable winter experiences.

Presented by Valley First Credit Union and hosted at Sun Peaks Resort – named 2nd Best Ski Resort in Canada by Condé Nast Traveller magazine readers – the Winter Festival of Wine is not just about Icewine but all of the famous wine varietals of the Okanagan Wine Country region. Enjoy a wonderful marriage of culinary events, wine tastings, educational seminars and some of the best skiing and snowboarding anywhere in the world.

The Sun Peaks Progressive Tasting

The flagship of the Winter Wine Festival, this tasting combines cool wines, talented local artisans, crisp mountain air and good company to create warm and wonderful memories of a Canadian winter. Wander around the charming alpine village while tasting wines from over 20 wineries and watching demonstrations from local artisans Kendra Smith, Ken Farrar and others.
Medal Winners Tasting

Join some of the Okanagan’s leading wine experts for this tasting of award winning wines from the prestigious Okanagan Fall Wine Festival Judging Competition. What Your Nose Knows

Your eyes may fool you, your mouth may deceive you, but your nose will always search out the truth! Join wine educators as they lead you by the nose through a sensory experience of learning to identify defects in wine. No longer will you accept a bottle of wine in a restaurant that has been corked – this education will teach you how to identify the main defects found in wines. Of course your knowledge will be tested, and you get to be the judge to see if your nose really knows!
Sun Peaks Bartender Mixology Face-Off
4:00PM–5:30PM MASA'S BAR + GRILL $39
Bartenders from Sun Peaks and visiting Okanagan wineries are being challenged to participate in this brand new event. Competitors must produce a cocktail that includes wine and/or Icewine as part of their drink. Patrons get to taste samples of these great new cocktails and aid in choosing an event winner. Join in as guests are shown new ways to enjoy wine.
Mixology to Music  
8:00PM–11:00PM POWDER HOUNDS RESTAURANT

Enjoy a mouth-watering dinner paired with a sumptuous glass of wine, then romance the night away dancing to the music of a two-piece local band while sampling the house bartender’s mixed wine cocktail concoctions.
