The Sun Peaks Kookaburra Cup is back for its 6th year, and better than ever! Originated as a key event in the Sun Peaks Family Cup – All Nations Celebrations this event is rapidly growing in popularity. This fun, family-oriented event is open to all ability levels.
New last year was the 30 km distance where you can enter as a skater or classic skier and receive a separate time. We also offer a 15 km distance. By skiing two laps of the 15 km course you will complete the 30km loppet. There is 2 km course for beginners, novice skiers, bunnies and rabbits, and a 5 km course for rabbits and track attack skiers, and beginner-intermediate skiers looking for a bit more of a challenge.
The 2 km, 5 km, and 15 km courses are free technique events which means you can skate or do classic technique and timing is combined for both techniques. The 30 km course is for either skate or classic skiers with separate timing for both techniques.
