New Crystal Chairlift Announced!

Ours is the story of a ski area turned community, where humble beginnings paved the path of a mountain town that now welcomes guests from around the world.

The transformative journey of Tod Mountain (est. 1961) into Sun Peaks Resort began in 1993 and is rooted in the passion of residents and the commitment from ownership (Nippon Cable Co.) to the long-term vision of a world class destination. Along the way, an organic yet thoughtful evolution has resulted in a full-fledged mountain resort municipality with a community health centre, public school, grassroots clubs and association, and 1,400+ permanent residents.

Local residents are entrepreneurs, sport fanatics, and families, who have come from near and far for the coveted lifestyle. You may even run into Olympic Ski Champion, Nancy Greene, who resides here with husband Al Raine, Sun Peaks’ first Mayor. They arrived in 1994 to help shape the Master Development Plan and haven’t looked back since. Many who come for the winter months stay for the glorious days of summer, when the terrain morphs into a mountain biker and hiker’s playground, an 18-hole golf course, and so much more.
