Sun Peaks, BC - Tourism Sun Peaks supports BC Premier’s announcement for a new Crown corporation called Destination BC.

This organization will work collaboratively with tourism stakeholders across the province to market tourism in British Columbia.

“It provides long term funding and an industry led organization as opposed to a government Ministry,” says Christopher Nicolson, President of Tourism Sun Peaks.

Destination BC was a model developed by the Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC) task force charged with providing options for a new tourism marketing organization to government.

“The announcement followed an intense dialog with the tourism industry,” says Nicolson. "The Premier and Tourism Minister Bell should be applauded for their responsiveness and involvement with industry. It is a good day for tourism."
