Scottish born, but with snowboarding in my blood, I decided to pursue a career in snow sports. I visited every single resort in western Canada to find where the best place would be, and 14 years later I am still here in Sun Peaks. You can't beat it—fantastic terrain, great powder, sunshine and snowboard to the door.

Born and raised in a small town only 15 minutes from a small ski hill in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, I started skiing when I was 3 years old. I joined the local Nancy Greene Racing program at 6 and progressed to the National Capital Division of Alpine Ontario. I started instructing and coaching at 14, and advanced to supervising weekend programs and coaching high school race teams. I was hooked and have never looked back. I started working for Sun Peaks Resort in 2008 after completing the Outdoor Adventure program at Ontario's Algonquin College. My passion for the outdoors and the snow sports industry has grown throughout my experiences at Sun Peaks. I began my career here as the Program Coordinator and later moved to the Kids Programs where as the Program Supervisor, I found a real passion working closely with our instructors on and off the snow to deliver a fun and exciting experience for our youngest clients.
You'll most likely see me outside with a clip board, or on the slopes on a powder day. In the summer you'll catch me out on the bike trails. Outside of work I enjoy skiing, biking, camping, kayaking, BBQs with friends, and sunshine!

"The high standard of the SP Sports School—once again we've benefitted from the quality of instructors in Sun Peaks. Our kids both received instruction on skis and board from a number of instructors who have been friendly, helpful, and professional, but at the same time made it fun! Special mention for Ed in particular, but Hank too."

"Ski Sisters—This is our second trip to Sun Peaks and our third Ski Sisters lesson. We are from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Laurie even remembered us from last year and after a brief assessment, challenged us to continually improve, and have fun too! She would never make us do things beyond our capabilities... but seems to have ways of getting us safely down moguls, blacks, glades, etc. We highly recommend Laure to all levels of skiers."
–Louise Lehto, Ontario, Canada
"Last week, January 30 to February 3, we had a five day series of lessons and having not had lessons for a while, were concerned about continuity. These concerns were taken on board and we had an excellent set of lessons. Three days with Wulf which he made entertaining and informative. I can't recommend him highly enough. This was compounded by a fun powder lesson with Meg and a good technical lesson with Hank, a great team. An excellent team that put previous lesson experiences to bed, developed my skiing and made it fun."

"I would like to send my sincere thanks to all the people at your school especially 3 instructors who taught my family how to ski during our visit at Christmas 2011.
I would like to send my sincere thanks the Instructor Ken who taught both my husband and myself on December 24 in the morning session. He is very skillful and taught us lots of techniques. He is also very encouraging as I fell like ten thousand times.
I would also like to send another thanks to Tanisha who taught one of my boys for a 2 hours personal class and taught him how to do a good pizza and to make little turns. Thank you so much for all the staff at your school, including the coordinators outside the classroom and other staff who accompanied my son who had an accident inside the building. We wish all of you a wonderful year, looking forward to meet all of you this coming Christmas."
–Mike & Florence (Leung) Fang, British Columbia, Canada
"Our 6 year old daughter had a bad lesson experience in the past and finally decided to try it again, Jan was her instructor this time. He was fantastic and patient and our daughter now wants to ski! Thanks Jan!"
–Amy Buckman, Alberta, Canada
"Having never learned to ski and being a complete rookie on the snow, I took the opportunity to join your ski school. I have nothing but praise for these wonderful people who constantly encouraged me to get back up and have another go. Ordinarily, I am a person that gets frustrated when I can't do something right the first time, but these instructors kept me focused. When it clicked, I jumped for joy at this sudden success. I really experienced the joy of very basic skiing. After this lesson, I really understood the passion of this sport."
