July 23, 2014: You'll now find most of the wildflowers in bloom on Tod Mountain and the meadows have filled in nicely since last week. Purples, reds, yellows and pinks appear to have been painted in casual strokes across the mountainside, providing for beautiful photo opportunities. Larkspur were just starting to pop up last week and we'll likely see Fireweed starting to bloom in the upper elevation next week, as it is one of the late bloomers. For easy access to the lower meadows, try the Crystal Bowl Loop, #2 on the trail map.

July 16, 2014: The alpine wildflowers season on Tod Mountain has begun early this summer. A wet June and recent hot temperatures have provided the perfect environment for the flowers to start blooming. Young Arctic Lupines and Indian Paintbrush are in abundance in the meadows on the Juniper Ridge Loop. On the lower elevation Vista Trail you'll find plenty of Columbia Lilies and Red Columbines, and the Larkspur are just starting to pop up.
