Synopsis

Synopsis:  A weak upper trough will cross the area this morning and is generating a few flurries. Some clearing will occur as the day progresses in a dry northwest flow aloft, which will hold into Wednesday. Winds in the wake of today’s trough will be from the NW, with mostly 15-25 km/h at mid mountain with gusts to 40 in the higher alpine later this morning and afternoon. A Pacific front will follow on Thursday with some snowfall likely and light accumulations.

Extended Outlook

Thursday to Saturday:  A Pacific front is slated for Thursday with most models indicating light snowfall at that time with a 1-3 cm forecast. A dry and cool north to northwest flow and a building surface high pressure ridge will follow on Friday and through the weekend. Below freezing temperatures will hold for quite awhile.
