Macrame is the art of knotting. Throughout the centuries Macrame has been used to make household items such as tablecloths, bedspreads and curtains. Sailors made Macrame objects like hammocks, bell fringes and belts. In the 70’s Macrame wall hangings and plant hangers were very popular, and today that fashion is back. It doesn’t matter what you make, the knots are all the same.
In this 4 part workshop hosted by artist Susana Vijaya, you will learn the knots, focusing on jewelry making. By the end of the 4 classes you will have enough knowledge to evolve by yourself. Macrame is an art that requires practice and patience, and it is very creative and rewarding.
WARNING: Macrame is very addictive!
