We’re kicking the holidays into high gear with an event-full weekend.
Our Holiday Kick-Off Weekend jump-starts the celebrations. We’ve partnered with the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre to fill the village with activities and holiday fun!
Bring your family to Sun Peaks and take part in hands-on activities, vote for your favourite Christmas-themed window, get a photo taken with the big guy in red and so much more. We have a full schedule throughout the weekend for you to enjoy.
Tip: Don’t forget to bring an ugly sweater to participate in the parade for National Ugly Sweater Day!
If you thought spending Christmas at Sun Peaks meant missing out on Santa, think again.
It turns out that Santa Claus enjoys spending time in the mountains! So, this December, he will be in Sun Peaks to ski, skate and indulge in our famous cinnamon buns. Mr. Claus will be hitting the slopes at 10:30am on Saturday, December 23. In the evening, find him at our NHL-sized outdoor skating rink during Family Fun Night, which is free for children 12 and under.
Santa loves our breakfasts! So naturally, he’ll be heading into Masa’s Bar + Grill on Sunday, December 24. Breakfast tickets should be purchased in advance through Guest Services.
Help spread Christmas spirit through our village with an Olympian.
Join Olympic gold medalist Nancy Greene for this annual Sun Peaks tradition. Starting at 6:30pm on both nights, guests are invited to sing carols with Nancy as a group. Don’t be shy! No experience is necessary and sheet music will be provided. The group will meet at the Village Day Lodge and move to the Clock Tower Square to sing at 7:00pm. It will be hard not to sing along to these well-loved holiday tunes.
Enjoy a reading in an elegantly decorated setting.
Hear a classic Christmas tale while sipping a hot chocolate in the beautifully decorated hotel lobby of the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel & Conference Centre on Christmas Eve. This event is free and starts at 7:30pm.
Restaurants will celebrate with scrumptious holiday favourites.
The holidays call for a feast, and restaurants throughout the village will have Christmas menus on offer. Whether it is for brunch or the more traditional holiday meal, check out our list of restaurants to visit on Christmas day.
We are ringing in 2018 with our annual outdoor event.
New Year’s Eve is the biggest night of the year in Sun Peaks. The festivities begin with the First Flight Big Air Invitational in our Rockstar Energy terrain park, followed by the annual torchlight parade and a fireworks display. All events can be viewed easily slopeside, outside of the Village Day Lodge. The outdoor activities wrap up at 8:30pm.
Tip: Follow our New Year’s Celebration up with one of the in-resort parties at a local establishment. Get your tickets ahead of time to celebrate into the early hours of 2018.
