When family gets together on the mountain, that’s when the magic really happens. Breaking out of your regular routine, enjoying the fresh air, and just spending quality time together makes a BC ski holiday one of the best ways to get away with your clan.
Whether the little ones in your family enjoy gentle, rolling runs or have a daring need for speed, there are several dedicated spots on the mountain that kids are sure to love. Find out where these kids Adventure Zones are located at Sun Peaks ski resort, plus pick up a few tips on family-friendly activities and treats guaranteed to put a smile on your kiddos’ faces.
The Sticks is a familiar Morrisey favourite for many young families, but this year it has a few more tricks in its trees—home to the Grouse’s Nest Kids Adventure Zone.
Where to find it: Jump on the Morrisey Express chairlift and swing left at the top to find this classic green cruiser. This run is considered one of the easiest ways down on Mt. Morrisey, so it’s a great place to start if your children are ready to level up from the Bunny Hill, or if your family is looking for a warm-up run to do altogether. The Grouse’s Nest will quickly come up on your left, just after the exit for Home Run. Kids Adventure Zones are also marked on the 2024-25 Alpine Trail Map in purple shading.
You might be surprised to find The Sticks is home to more than just skiers and boarders…
Don’t blink! Just past the exit for Home Run, follow the orange signs on the left side of The Sticks for a surprise! Some of these grouse are pretty cheeky. How many can you count in total?
Even if your little ones are already great skiers or boarders, a ski or snowboard lesson at Sun Peaks can be a great way to learn new skills, make friends, and learn more about some of the mountain's best kept secrets. Consider a lesson to safely learn about skiing through trees and finding side bumps and jumps all over the hill.
For a midmorning, midmountain pick-me-up, follow the delightful cinnamon-y smells up the Sunburst chairlift and to the left. Home of the iconic Sun Peaks cinnamon bun and mugs of steaming hot chocolate, create a delicious family memory together here at the Sunburst Lodge before taking your next adventure.
You don’t have to be Goldilocks to find this next kids Adventure Zone just right. With the perfect amount of skating through tree glades and side bumps to explore, Three Bears on Sundance Mountain is a perennial favourite blue run for kids and parents alike. Enter the Bears’ Lair to uncover their home here at Sun Peaks – and don’t miss some great photo ops!
Where to find it: Take a sharp right turn off of the Sundance chairlift to find the entrance to the Three Bears run. Discover the bears hidden in the glades along the way and finish with a picture altogether at the Bears' Lair sign.
There are actually two entrances to the Bears’ Lair—kids will have fun finding this additional secret entrance off of the Sundance run!
