FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Sun Peaks Resort Announces New 'Spring Snow Fest' – A High Energy Finale to the Ski Season

Sun Peaks, BC, March 10, 2025 – Sun Peaks Resort is amping up the energy for the end of the season with the launch of Spring Snow Fest, a three-weekend celebration of spring skiing and riding, live music, mountain competitions, and après-ski culture, running Thursday, March 27, through closing day on Sunday, April 13

“Spring in the mountains is all about fun, sunny days on the slopes and basking in those glorious final days of the season with your friends and family. We wanted to ramp up that energy both on the mountain and slopeside for our guests,” says Christina Antoniak, Director of Communications with Sun Peaks Resort. “Each of the three weekends under our new Spring Snow Fest banner follows a theme, with live music being a real focal point. The idea is for this expansive end of season celebration to grow and evolve in the years to come. We’re stoked for this to become a highlight of everyone’s ski season.”

The first weekend of Spring Snow Fest, March 27–30, is anchored in on-mountain competitions, the highlight of which is the new Big Air Invitational:

  • Toyota Dual Slalom Race, on Friday.
  • The inaugural Stoke Showdown: Invitational Big Air presented by Powder Ventures, and Nothing in the Pantry – Women’s Ride Day, on Saturday.
  • Garden Party Rail Jam, on Sunday.
  • Plus, outdoor performances at the Pepsi Après Stage by the popular DJ Angie C, DJ Foxy Moron (Whistler), DJ Vinyl Ritchie (Sea 2 Sky) on March 28; DJ King Kong Finger, DJ Foxy Moron and DJ Vinyl Ritchie on March 29; and DJ Lakes and DJ Jess (Vancouver) on March 30.

Taking place concurrently from March 27-30, the new SAVOUR Festival presented by Tourism Sun Peaks shines a spotlight on the growing culinary scene in Sun Peaks, with 10 unique events over four days.

The second weekend of Spring Snow Fest, April 5-6, is all about food and entertainment at village restaurants, highlighted by patio parties and live music:

  • End of Season Ender Bender at Bottoms Bar & Grill.
  • Mantles Patio Party featuring DJ Nico and DJ King Kong Finger.
  • Slopeside BBQs at the village base.

The final weekend of the 2024/25 ski season and Spring Snow Fest, April 11-13, sees the return of the annual Wonder Weekend. Wonder Weekend is a throwback to the early Tod Mountain Days, where retro outerwear is encouraged and events embrace a light-hearted, entertaining aspect, such as:

  • Slush Cup.
  • Snow Way Down Bike Slalom.
  • Top to Bottoms.
  • NEW Wacky Wonder Cross Track Race presented by Powder Ventures.
  • Plus, slopeside BBQs and live music, featuring DJ Cheeno, DJ Lexia, and DJ Daddeezee, and The Whitecroft Irregulars.

Record-Breaking Season & Prime Spring Conditions:

With a current alpine base over 180cm (6ft) and 24cm of new snow in the past seven days, Sun Peaks is on track to provide fantastic spring ski conditions. The resort has broken a number of skier visitation records this season, including the biggest opening day in history on Saturday, November 23, and most skiers on-mountain in one day on December 29. This was followed by strong overnight visitation levels from mid-January through mid-March.

To make spring skiing even more enticing, the resort has also launched new deals, and will be launching the 2025-26 alpine season passes this week, which includes free skiing for the remainder of this season:

  • 3-Day Peaks Cards have been re-released for the remainder of the season – now on sale until March 27.
  • Existing Peaks Card Holders – save 50% on additional lift tickets, from March 28 to April 13.
  • Worldwide Reciprocal Program – season pass holders from any resort, worldwide, save 50% on Sun Peaks lift tickets from March 23 to April 13.
  • 2025-26 Alpine Season Pass Best Buy starts this week; includes skiing for the remainder of the 2024-25 ski season for new pass holders!
