FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Sun Peaks, BC, March 10, 2025 – Sun Peaks Resort is amping up the energy for the end of the season with the launch of Spring Snow Fest, a three-weekend celebration of spring skiing and riding, live music, mountain competitions, and après-ski culture, running Thursday, March 27, through closing day on Sunday, April 13.
“Spring in the mountains is all about fun, sunny days on the slopes and basking in those glorious final days of the season with your friends and family. We wanted to ramp up that energy both on the mountain and slopeside for our guests,” says Christina Antoniak, Director of Communications with Sun Peaks Resort. “Each of the three weekends under our new Spring Snow Fest banner follows a theme, with live music being a real focal point. The idea is for this expansive end of season celebration to grow and evolve in the years to come. We’re stoked for this to become a highlight of everyone’s ski season.”
The first weekend of Spring Snow Fest, March 27–30, is anchored in on-mountain competitions, the highlight of which is the new Big Air Invitational:
Taking place concurrently from March 27-30, the new SAVOUR Festival presented by Tourism Sun Peaks shines a spotlight on the growing culinary scene in Sun Peaks, with 10 unique events over four days.
The second weekend of Spring Snow Fest, April 5-6, is all about food and entertainment at village restaurants, highlighted by patio parties and live music:
The final weekend of the 2024/25 ski season and Spring Snow Fest, April 11-13, sees the return of the annual Wonder Weekend. Wonder Weekend is a throwback to the early Tod Mountain Days, where retro outerwear is encouraged and events embrace a light-hearted, entertaining aspect, such as:
With a current alpine base over 180cm (6ft) and 24cm of new snow in the past seven days, Sun Peaks is on track to provide fantastic spring ski conditions. The resort has broken a number of skier visitation records this season, including the biggest opening day in history on Saturday, November 23, and most skiers on-mountain in one day on December 29. This was followed by strong overnight visitation levels from mid-January through mid-March.
To make spring skiing even more enticing, the resort has also launched new deals, and will be launching the 2025-26 alpine season passes this week, which includes free skiing for the remainder of this season:
Spring Snow Fest in Sun Peaks is set to become a signature end-of-season event, and this year is just the beginning. More detailed event info will be released in the days to come. Closing day of the 2024-25 ski season is Sunday, April 13.
