CHECK-IN AND FLYING PROCEDURES FOR ALL PILOTS (MEMBERS & GUESTS)

  • All pilots (members & guests) must receive an on-hill orientation from an active member, provide proof of insurance (HPAC membership) and sign a waiver to be eligible for a paragliding pass. This must be done once per season, every season.
  • Paragliding passes will be issued through Guest Services once patrol has approved the flyer and the previous step has been completed.
  • All pilots must have the equipment needed to fly safely in a mountainous environment. This includes wing, harness, helmet, reserve parachute, and tree-rescue kit.
  • Prior to launch all pilots must call patrol to state their intent to take-off. If flying in a group, only one pilot within the group will need to call-in the flight. Patrol can be reached by calling 250.578.5521

ADDITIONAL RULES & ADVISORIES

  • Patrol have the right to either withhold or revoke paragliding passes if local winds are above 25km/h. Please check local forecasts prior to planning your flying trip.
  • No speed flying, acro, wagga, tandem or instructional flying is permitted at Sun Peaks at any time.
  • Anyone found accessing the site for flying without registration and waiver documentation completed; or not complying with the above rules will be asked to leave the premises.
