Every off-season feels long, but this year we had an even longer period than normal between days sliding on snow (and that's not even counting the 'every week feels like a year' vibe that 2020 has going on). The wait was finally over this past Saturday as we got to gear up, mask up, and head up to grab the first laps of winter 2020-21. And what an opening day it was!
Apparently Mother Nature took pity on us and decided to reward everyone for their patience. A beautiful sunrise gave way to bluebird skies, as the slopes lay covered in plenty of fresh snow deposited by a series of storms over the last few weeks. With all three of our mountains open, all of our chairlifts spinning, 100+ runs ready to go, and our full Nordic network groomed, there was plenty of terrain for everyone to enjoy.
We could rave on and on about how beautiful the weather was, how stunning the views looked, or how good the conditions were, but instead we'd rather show you. Here is a look at all the action from Day 1 of the 2020-21 winter season:
A big thank you to everyone who joined us on opening day for your good spirits, patience, and willingness to follow our COVID-19 protocols to help keep everyone safe. It felt good to be in the mountains again. For those unable to be with us for opening this year, we hope you stay healthy so that we can see you soon. A big thank you as well to all of our staff for your hard work to get this season up and running under challenging circumstances. We couldn't have done it without you!
