Summer Paragliding Display

Keep your eyes on the skies and enjoy the show! Weather permitting, local paragliders will be taking off from Top of the World as part of a private, closed event and will be easily visible throughout the resort. Designed landing zones in the valley have been provided. This is not a public activity/event. 

Sun Peaks (SP) is a Resort and a high altitude Paragliding Site.  First and foremost, you need to be a skilled pilot with mountain flying experience!  After week of reconnaissance flying in strong summer condition we are re-rating this site as a P3 site (min 150 flights).

We have three approved launches Chief Nose, Chief Shoulder and  Sacred Line at top of the Burfield (Top of the World).

IMPORTANT: We have 2 landing fields, 1) P5 parking lot LZ is long 5.7:1 glide, 2) Exhibition LZ located behind Ski Patrol building ( P3 LANDING, think of Grouse LZ).

Sun Peaks has been a long-standing host of free flyers and has held numerous competitions over the years. Since 2000, paragliding has taken the place of hang-gliding as the fastest growing form of flying worldwide. These once strange wings are a common sight year-round in the skies at European resorts. REGISTER TO FLY WITH US

Registration will be open in the Village Day Lodge Breezeway from 9:30am - 10:30am on Saturday and Sunday. Please bring a copy of your P3 rating/insurance for a solo flight. 

COST

$20 includes 2 rides up the lift and a shuttle to the Top of the World. Tickets must be purchased at the Activities Desk located in the Village Day Lodge.
