Whether you’re wanting to get out for a paddle, have fun with the family, or try something totally new, you’ll be sure to find something to try in Sun Peaks. Fill the remaining summer months with fun and check out these unique activities.
Go for a Paddle
Spend some time out on the water by renting a canoe, kayak or paddleboard and exploring the nearby McGillivray Lake. Located just 6km from the main village, the lake offers stunning views of Mt. Tod and is the perfect nature escape, especially on a hot summer day. Rentals come fully equipped with everything required for a day on the water so all you need to do is show up and enjoy.
Axe Throwing
Sun Peaks’ newest activity has officially opened and it’s a thrilling time! Cleavage Axe Co. offers a fun-filled axe throwing experience for all, experienced or not. They offer personal axe coaching to show you the ropes before they send you off swingin’ on your own. Cleavage Axe Co. is open late into the evening, making this the perfect activity to try after a day out exploring the mountains.
Pedal the Pump Track
Located in Sun Peaks’ progression park is the brand new Pump Track. This pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and fun features, so bring your bike down and try it for yourself. While you’re there be sure to check out the rest of the progression park. The bike skills zone is perfect for beginners of all ages to practice mountain biking.
Yoga on Water
Try something new and combine two activities: Stand Up Paddleboarding and Yoga. SUP Yoga is offered by local studio, Sun Peaks Yoga, at the nearby Heffley Lake. A quick 10 minute drive brings you to the lake where you will meet your certified yoga instructor for this unique experience. Paddle your way around the lake, enjoy the scenic views, and try our some different poses on the board.
Family-Friendly Mini Golf
Sun Peaks offers free mini golf on select days through the summer and fall. Just a short walk from the village in the Sun Peaks Centre, this activity is fun for the whole family!
