Whether you’re seasoned trekkers, weekend warriors or first-timers looking for the best views around, chairlift-accessed hiking in Sun Peaks jump-starts your journey to 1,850 metres above sea level—and that’s not all. Here are three reasons you should ride the Sunburst chairlift this summer with some good hikers, or maybe just your sandals in tow.

Sure, you can start your hike from the Sun Peaks village and meander through lower elevation forest, but why not save your energy for the stunning panoramas, vibrant wildflowers and extensive trail network blossoming from the higher elevations accessed by the Sunburst chairlift?
Set your sights on Tod Lake or the summit of Tod Peak, or wildflower meadows stretching from the top of the chairlift and around the open alpine. You won't even have to run to cover all your favourite trails in a day—unless you'd like to!
Even if you don’t get off the chairlift, it’s well worth the ride. It's like being in your own personal bird's eye adventure as you soak up scenery from various angles as you ascend and descent the lift, cruising high above the Bike Park trails criss-crossing the winter ski runs on the lower mountain.
The chairlift also presents terrific opportunities for wildlife viewing—providing a safe distance between wildlife and guests, and less noise to interrupt or scare off the diverse wildlife that call the Sun Peaks mountains home.
Use the chairlift to fast-forward right through the are-we-there-yet stage. Both you and your young kids can enjoy a walk or hike with the best bang-for-your-buck viewpoints by following one of three recommended routes—ranging from mild to wild.
Feel more like relaxing in the sun? No worries! You’ll also find the mid-mountain Sunburst Lodge when you unload the chairlift, where you can unwind on a sun-drenched patio with a refreshing drink and some delicious bites from their licensed restaurant. It's the ideal spot to soak up the mountain vistas before you cruise your way back down!
