Friday: A Warm Welcome to the Holidays 

The Holiday Kick-Off begins Friday evening, setting the stage for a weekend of celebration. Head over to the Artisan Market at the Sun Peaks Centre, where local and regional vendors showcase handcrafted goods, unique gifts, and seasonal treats. With the market open from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, it’s the perfect opportunity to find something special while supporting small businesses. For those with a sweet tooth, the Sun Peaks School Bake Sale Fundraiser offers delicious homemade treats, with proceeds going to support local programs. 

The Inaugural Plaza Christmas Tree Light Up at 5:00 PM officially marks the start of the season. Gather around with friends and family to watch as the tree’s sparkling lights bring the plaza to life, with the Sounds of the Season singing in the background. There is also public skating from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Sun Peaks arena, free of charge to enjoy with family and friends.

The Artisan Market expands, featuring over 30 vendors showcasing everything from handmade ornaments to winter accessories. Family Friendly Activities: Kids can decorate their own gingerbread cookies at Vertical Café, roast marshmallows at Morrisey’s Public House’s s’mores station, or warm up with free hot chocolate in the Upper Village—all while supplies last.
